Dredges
Snyder Industries, Inc owns four dredges, all with different capabilities and attachments. The different range of equipment allows us the capability to remove any material from sand and muck to hard pan limestone rock.
Snyder #1

Snyder #1 is our “original” and very first dredge. It was built in 1975 and still runs with the same tenacity as it did 38 years ago. Snyder #1 is a self-propelled hydraulic suction cutter-head dredge with a 4-6” discharge, ideal for sandy residential or commercial areas. Snyder #1 also has the capability to collapse itself down to fit under fixed bridges or structures with a minimum of 6.5’ of clearance-This unique capability comes in very handy for certain jobs!
Snyder #2

Snyder 2 is a mechanical barge with a 320 B Caterpillar excavator onboard and a 45 cubic yard hopper which contains the material until it is unloaded. It travels up and down both coasts of Florida via custom push boat. There are several attachments that can be added in order to remove different strengths of material. We are equipped with a Ripper that breaks through softer rock, two Rockblaster hydraulic hammers in different sizes and strengths and a Grapple attachment to pick the rock fragments or boulders up out of the water.
Snyder #3

Snyder 3 is a mechanical barge with a 320 B Caterpillar excavator similar to Snyder 2. However, the hopper on Snyder 3 can be used two ways. It has a hydraulic suction cutter head attachment, modeled after Snyder 1, and built in jet pumps along the walls so we have the ability to excavate and pump muck directly out to the trucks with no mess or return water to the canal. The hopper is also compatible with the same attachments we have for rock removal.
**320C Caterpillar-We also have a 320C with 50’ and 60’ long reach attachments that can be used on land or transferred onto Snyder #2 or #3 in order to dredge those hard to reach areas.
Snyder #4

Snyder #4, also known as the Barracuda, was built by Dredge Supply Company. It is a hydraulic suction cutter-head dredge with a 10” discharge. It can be used as a swing ladder or conventional dredge and can pump approximately 1.25 miles, depending on the terrain. It can handle material from fine sand to gravel. We also own 1.25 miles of High Density Polyethylene Pipe with a 12” inner diameter. We have completed projects for the US Army Corps of Engineers in the Kissimmee River and the City of Port St. Lucie in the C-24 canal using this dredge.
