Snyder Industries is well known in Broward, Dade and Palm Beach Counties and has an impeccable reputation with customers as well as the Department of Transportation, Department of Environmental Protection, the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Broward DEP.

I began working as a dump truck driver for Mark Snyder, original owner of Snyder Industries, in 1980 and soon learned how to operate the dredge, make repairs and fabricate & weld new equipment. I assisted Mark Snyder in creating and building one of the hydraulic dredges we still use today.

After ten years of working for Snyder Industries, I was offered an Assistant Dredge Supervisor position working for the Hillsboro Inlet Maintenance and Improvement District. I took the offer and for the next ten years my job duties included supervising a crew of five along with being the primary operator for our 12” hydraulic suction dredge.

During this time, I also consulted the new owner of Snyder Industries with repairs, maintenance and large projects. I also acquired a 100-ton Master Captains License in 1993.

In January of 2001, I had the opportunity to purchase Snyder Industries, the company that first got me started in the dredging business. I acquired a partner in January of 2003, which allowed me to expand Snyder into a full service dredging operation able to handle almost any job, large or small.

As of June 2008, we currently have four barges ranging from 4”-14” hydraulic suction dredges and mechanical dredges that also have the ability to break up large layers of hard pan rock/limestone. We have seven specially designed water tight dump trucks that make hauling clean and easy and we own three acres of land that houses our warehouse and allows us to stockpile the dredge material.

We have worked for and successfully completed dredging jobs for such government agencies such as, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, South Florida Water Management, and several cities all while maintaining our spot as the leading residential dredging company in South Florida.

On a personal note, I am a perfectionist and a hard worker and I expect nothing less from my crew. Owning this company has been a dream of mine since I began working for Mark Snyder is my early 20’s. I have invested my entire life’s work and experience into this business. I have a work ethic that is hard to come by, and my accomplishments in the industry reflect that.
